Patlapa graduated from Boston University in 2021 with a bachelor’s in psychology and biology with specialization in neurobiology. As an undergrad, she was studying the mechanisms underlying goal-directed learning and decision making in the Howe Lab. She joined the Graybiel lab after graduation as a technical associate.
